Digital Chamber of Ghana, FIF Africa, and Graphic Sign MoU for Landmark DT4D Conference in November

The Digital Chamber of Ghana (DCG), in collaboration with the Financial Inclusion Forum Africa (FIF Africa) and the Graphic Communications Group Ltd (GCGL), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to co-host the inaugural Digital Technology for Development (DT4D) Conference in November 2025.

Building on the five-year legacy of the successful Annual Mobile Technology for Development (MT4D) Conferences, this landmark event recognizes the growing significance of digital technology in driving Africa’s socio-economic transformation. The DT4D Conference aims to accelerate technology-enabled development across the continent.

The partnership was formally sealed on July 17, 2025, at the Secretariat of the Digital Chamber of Ghana. Each institution brings unique strengths to the initiative—ranging from policy and advocacy to media and implementation expertise.

The leadership of the three organizations emphasized their shared commitment to delivering a highly impactful and well-attended event, with lasting outcomes that will contribute meaningfully to Africa’s digital future.

A Shared Vision for Digital Development

The MoU outlines a collaborative effort to pool resources, networks, and expertise in support of a high-impact event. The conference will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, and workshops on themes such as fintech, digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and inclusive policy frameworks. It aims to convene stakeholders from across Africa and beyond, including policymakers, development partners, tech entrepreneurs, financial institutions, and civil society actors.

The signing ceremony, held at the DCG Secretariat in Accra, saw representatives from the three organizations pledge their commitment to making the DT4D Conference – 2025, a cornerstone event for Africa’s digital ecosystem.

Representing the DCG was its Chairperson, Mr. Phillip Amoateng. FIF Africa was represented by its Co-Founder and Chair, Dr. William Derban, while GCGL was represented by its Director of Marketing, Mr. Franklin Sowa.

Commenting after the signing ceremony, Mr. Amoateng expressed optimism about the partnership, emphasizing its potential to position Ghana as a hub for digital innovation.

“The DT4D Conference will be a game-changer, bringing together innovators, policymakers, and industry leaders to chart the future of digital development in Africa. This collaboration with FIF Africa and Graphic Communications marks a new chapter in how we convene stakeholders to drive real change in Ghana’s digital ecosystem and beyond,” he added.

On his part the Chair of FIF Africa, Dr. William Derban, noted that the partnership was timely, given Africa’s digital and financial inclusion gaps.

“As a forum dedicated to advancing digital and financial inclusion across Africa, this conference presents a unique opportunity for all stakeholders to come together—to share ideas, explore innovative solutions, and chart new paths forward,” said Dr. Derban. “For FIF Africa it is a moment to bridge the worlds of technology and financial inclusion. We firmly believe that digital tools must be accessible to all—not just the privileged few. Through platforms such as DT4D, we aim to ensure that financial and digital ecosystems work in harmony to serve the broader population and guarantee that Africa is not left behind in this digital revolution.”

Mr. Franklin Sowa, Director of Marketing at Graphic, underscored his organization’s commitment to amplifying the conference’s impact and ensuring its success.

“As a relevant news house in a consistently evolving world and industry, the need for such partnerships to continually create meaningful value in serving our mandate is imperative and that is exactly what this partnership seeks to deliver to all stakeholders and more importantly patrons and players in Digital. We appreciate the fact that digital is key to national development and economic growth for all sectors of the economy including Finance and non-Banking finance institutions, Agriculture, Education, Health Tourism, e-commerce, media etc. Truth is that when businesses thrive, we also do well”
